The Sweetness to My Life: Baking, By Garcia
The Sweetness to My Life: Baking, By Garcia
I discovered baking way back in the pandemic because it was quarantine for years, and I really didn’t have a hobby that was fun and that I could enjoy. The first dessert I baked was cookies. As a first-timer at that time, I was really disappointed because it wasn’t the result I was hoping for, but that didn’t stop me from trying and trying until I perfected those cookies.
As time flies, I started to try different recipes and techniques, and I would be so happy seeing the work I’ve made. That was the time I knew I loved baking and how it gave comfort to me. Every time I bake, I would always take a photo of it to capture the effort I made, and sometimes I would also take videos of me baking every step. Baking helps me to be patient because not every bake I make is perfect. Sometimes it's too salty, burned, or it just tastes bad.
I learned that it takes time to be good at something, it may not be easy but it's sure worth it . Baking also helped me to reduce stress, especially since we were on the online modality at that time, and I was always stressing over my assignments and projects, and through baking, I forgot all my problems. In the future, I would love to go to an orphanage and teach children how to bake because besides it being fun and enjoyable, baking can also teach them to be creative and patient, as the same values of baking taught me.
